   Azure Core, Policy and Governance

   Lead architecture, design, and implementation of services that help customers govern their Azure environments. Work includes C#, Azure, Cosmos DB, event processing, Service Fabric, and REST APIs.

   Earlier: Microsoft Sentinel Graph

   Distributed data ingestion and processing for a managed security data platform. Worked with data lakes, Azure Data Factory, integration runtimes, and C# to support security analysis.

   Amazon · Senior Software Engineer

   Amazon Store, Product UI

   Maintained and extended the product rendering service used in Amazon’s online store. Designed contracts and integration with an AI/ML-based multivariate experimentation platform. Technologies included Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and AWS.

   Microsoft · Senior → Principal Software Engineer

   Azure, Device Update for IoT Hub

   Led architecture and design of Device Update for IoT Hub, including backend services for publishing, processing, and distributing device updates. Designed the OpenAPI specification and worked on official SDKs for C#, Java, Python, Go, and TypeScript.

   Windows, Delivery Catalog

   Designed cloud services for publishing and distributing Windows and Microsoft Store updates. Implemented publishing APIs, asynchronous processing pipelines and workers, and algorithms to select device-driver updates.

   Windows Update

   Responsible for the main client web service for Windows Update. Designed backend services and caching infrastructure for the Windows application store, and optimized performance using distributed caching to scale update delivery.

   Designed and implemented connectivity between Office, SharePoint, and line-of-business applications, including SAP and Siebel, for online and offline scenarios. Worked on Remote Blob Storage integration and upgrade performance for SharePoint 2010.

   Dynamics AX, data import and application integration

   Designed and implemented a data-import framework using XML, XSLT, .NET transformations, and CLR interop. Developed core Application Integration Framework services and the outgoing web-service adapter for the Dynamics AX messaging gateway.

   Led the Axapta Test Infrastructure and Tools team, responsible for the X++ Test Automation Framework and Test Case Editor. Deployed the framework and trained test engineers. Designed and implemented the XUnit unit test framework for Dynamics AX.

   Defined product architecture and technical specifications for the Prague engineering group, and contributed to engineering roadmaps and estimates. Developed C++ software and participated in the company’s architecture board.

   Taught Microsoft Official Curriculum developer courses, with a focus on C++, and helped prepare training in C/C++ fundamentals and Visual Studio .NET. Supported clients’ software development as a lead development specialist.

Teaching background.

During my doctoral studies, I was a teaching assistant at the Mathematical Institute in Opava for courses in probability, statistics, logic, and set theory. I also taught introductory computer science and programming at high school.

Design and development

Object-oriented design, test-driven development, refactoring, design patterns, and service architecture. SOLID principles, domain-driven design, pair programming, and agile development.
